This is the shortest ranking on the site, and that is the finding. Across every provider we have reviewed, only a handful publish laboratory testing as part of the price you are quoted. Everywhere else, bloodwork is either absent, optional, or an unpriced extra you discover later.
Why Labs Are Worth Paying For
A large part of this market prescribes GLP-1 medication from a questionnaire and measures nothing — we reviewed services whose entire intake is advertised as two minutes. Baseline bloodwork does specific work that a form cannot.
It can change the diagnosis. Hypothyroidism causes weight gain and fatigue that can look like a straightforward weight problem — and it is treated with thyroid hormone, not a GLP-1. A service that never tests will never find it.
It also establishes kidney and liver function before you start a medication, can surface undiagnosed diabetes or prediabetes that changes what is appropriate, and gives you something objective to measure against later — markers like HbA1c and insulin can improve meaningfully while the scale moves slowly.
The Most Common Hidden Cost
Lab charges are the expense most likely to appear after you have already committed. Three patterns recur across our reviews:
Required and expensive. Marek Health states a $450 minimum lab panel purchase on top of a $299 consultation — $749 before any medication is dispensed.
Required and explicitly not covered. Red Mountain states plainly that labs are “not included and not waived” even when the consultation fee is waived. Blunt, honest — and the amount is still not published.
Optional. Genesis Lifestyle Medicine describes testing as optional — while its lower BMI eligibility tier turns on “metabolic symptoms”, which bloodwork is the natural way to establish.
Against that, the best value we found is PRIME Medical Group at $149 for a visit with comprehensive bloodwork included — covering overall health, vitamins and thyroid. That is a fifth of Marek’s entry cost for a comparable front door.

What This List Does and Does Not Mean
Absence from this list is not evidence that a provider excludes labs. We list only providers that publish labs-included pricing. Many others may include testing without saying so, or arrange it at cost. The list reflects what is disclosed, not what happens clinically.
Note too that “labs included” rarely means unlimited labs. It usually means one baseline panel, or periodic testing at a stated cadence. Ask what is covered, how often, and what a repeat panel costs if your provider wants one.
If your provider does not include labs, get them anyway. A basic metabolic panel, thyroid function and HbA1c through your own doctor or a direct-to-consumer lab typically costs less than a month of medication, and you can bring the results with you. That is the cheapest way to close the gap.
