Soul CBD Review – It Is Isolate, So There Is No Entourage Effect

Soul is a Scottsdale, Arizona wellness brand founded by Angie and Mike Lee, selling CBD gummies, oil drops, capsules, topicals and drinks alongside a line of non-CBD supplements. Gummies list at $35 for a 750mg jar and are usually discounted well below that. It is for people who want zero THC and lab testing they can check — and on that second point it does better than most, with testing by an ISO-accredited laboratory. The thing to correct before you buy: these are CBD isolate products, which means the “entourage effect” the marketing describes is not something they can deliver.

Overview

The range is unusually broad. On the CBD side there are gummies in many flavours, oil drops, Chill, Sleepi and Thrive capsules, a Rapid Relief cream, bath bombs, drinks, and pet oils and treats. There is also a THC line branded Out of Office — gummies, drops and drinks, with one variant listed at 6mg THC plus 45mg CBD — and a set of non-CBD supplements including Debloat Capsules, Gut Hero, Thyroid Hero and Big Brain.

That breadth is worth naming clearly, because it complicates the brand’s central promise. Soul markets itself on zero THC, and its CBD products are isolate. It also sells intoxicating THC gummies. Both facts are true; they just apply to different products, and a shopper who absorbed the “0% THC” message from the homepage could reasonably fail to notice which line they are adding to the basket.

Everything here reflects Soul’s own product pages as they read on 7 August 2026, plus independent coverage of its testing, BBB record and return policy. We have not bought or taken any of these products.

It Is Isolate — Which Changes Two Things

The three forms of CBD are worth knowing, because the whole category is sold on this distinction:

• Full spectrum — CBD plus minor cannabinoids, terpenes and trace THC. Highest drug-test risk.
• Broad spectrum — the accompanying compounds are retained but THC is stripped out.
• Isolate — purified CBD with everything else removed. No terpenes, no minor cannabinoids, no THC.

The “entourage effect” is the hypothesis that those accompanying compounds work together with CBD. It is a proposed mechanism rather than an established one, and it is debated. But whatever its merits, it requires the other compounds to be present — and in an isolate they have been deliberately removed. Marketing isolate on the entourage effect is not a small overstatement; it credits the product with the one property its manufacturing process takes out.

This is a correction, not a condemnation, and the second consequence is genuinely in Soul’s favour. Isolate is the safest form of CBD if you are drug tested. Full-spectrum products carry trace THC by design; broad spectrum reduces it; isolate removes it. For a nurse, a driver, a federal employee or anyone on a testing regime, that is a real advantage, and it is a better reason to buy Soul than any entourage claim. Buy it for the zero, not for the synergy.

Pricing, and the Permanent Discount

At the discounted price, 2.7¢ per milligram is genuinely competitive — comparable to the best-value tiers we found at R&R, and cheap for the category, which commonly runs 5¢ to 15¢. At list price, 4.7¢ is unremarkable.

The subscription renews at 15% off, with delivery every 2, 4 or 8 weeks. Note that 15% off list is a worse deal than the 42% promotional code, so check what a subscription actually bills at before assuming it is the cheapest route.

One transparency gap worth naming: capsule products state milligrams per capsule but not the count per bottle on the pages we read, so cost per milligram cannot be calculated for the capsules. The gummies do publish both, which is why they are the only line we can price properly.

Lab Testing and Regulatory Record

This is Soul’s strongest area. Independent coverage reports that products are tested by ProVerde Laboratories, which holds ISO 17025 accreditation. Both halves of that matter. Naming the lab lets you look it up, which an unattributed “third-party tested” badge does not. And ISO 17025 is an international standard for testing-laboratory competence assessed by an accreditation body — a materially stronger signal than a lab simply existing.

On the regulatory record, we found no FDA warning letter naming the company, and independent coverage reports the same. That is meaningful in a category where the FDA has written to numerous sellers, almost always over marketing products as treating or curing disease.

The product pages do carry the required disclaimer that statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and the product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Keep the underlying position in view regardless: the FDA has not approved CBD to treat any condition. The only approved CBD product is Epidiolex, a prescription medicine for specific seizure disorders, and CBD cannot legally be marketed as a dietary supplement.

On customer feedback, the BBB profile is reported as an A- rating with four complaints — a light record. The company is reported as not listed on Trustpilot, so independent review volume is thinner than for larger brands and we publish no score.

The Guarantee That Is Not 30 Days

This is the third time in this run of CBD reviews we have found a guarantee badge that a company’s own policy does not support, so treat it as a category norm rather than a character flaw. The practical consequence is the same everywhere: for a consumable, “unopened only” means there is no try-it-and-see. You can return a jar you changed your mind about; you cannot return one that did not work for you. Buy the smallest size first, and assume 14 days rather than 30.

The Non-CBD Supplements, and What Is In Them

Soul’s capsule range is where the most care is needed, because these are botanical and amino-acid formulas with real pharmacology, sold alongside the CBD as though they were the same kind of purchase.

Chill Capsules ($30, discounted to $17.40) contain, per the label: hemp-derived CBD isolate at 30mg per capsule, magnesium as chelate, cordyceps mushroom extract, ashwagandha extract, L-theanine and 5-HTP. Marketed for relaxation, stress and anxious feelings.

Debloat Capsules ($30, discounted to $17.40) contain hemp-derived CBD and CBG, dandelion root, ginger, gentian root, wormwood, parsley, bromelain, German chamomile, lipase, pancreas, papaya and fenugreek seed. The page describes it as a doctor-formulated blend of herbs known to reduce bloating and heal your gut over time, claiming to reduce bloating and water weight, support bile and liver, and help with nausea.

A note on two ingredients most buyers will not recognise. Pancreas is an animal glandular, which means the product is not vegetarian — worth knowing, and not stated prominently. Wormwood contains thujone and is generally not recommended for prolonged use. Separately, the affiliate copy for this brand describes ingredients including skullcap root and kava kava; we did not find either in the product we examined, and kava carries an FDA consumer advisory linking it to severe liver injury — so if a Soul product you are considering does list kava, treat that as a reason to check with a clinician first.

Debloat Capsules: Water Weight Is Not Weight Loss

Most readers of this site are working on weight, and this product will be the one that catches your eye. So, plainly: reducing water weight is not losing fat. Dandelion and parsley are traditional diuretics, and a diuretic effect shifts the number on the scale for a day or two before fluid balance normalises. Nothing about that changes body composition.

To be fair to Soul, the page claims bloating and water weight rather than fat loss, and carries the required FDA disclaimer. The risk is in how it reads to someone tracking a weight-loss journey, where a fast three-pound drop is easy to interpret as progress. If you are weighing yourself to monitor a GLP-1 or a diet, a diuretic makes your data worse, not better.

There is one genuinely relevant interaction here. Fenugreek can lower blood glucose. If you take insulin, a sulfonylurea, metformin or any other glucose-lowering medication — which includes many people on this site — that is a combination to clear with your prescriber rather than discover. Fenugreek is also a legume and can cross-react in people allergic to peanuts or chickpeas.

Bloating during GLP-1 treatment is real and common, and it is usually a consequence of delayed gastric emptying. That is worth raising with the prescriber who put you on the medication before buying a thirteen-herb blend with undisclosed doses to manage it — the dose or the titration schedule may be the actual lever.

Interactions and Who Should Not Use These

• Ashwagandha (Chill Capsules) has case reports of liver injury, can raise thyroid hormone levels — relevant if you have a thyroid condition or take levothyroxine — and is generally advised against in pregnancy.
• CBD inhibits liver enzymes including CYP3A4 and CYP2C19, so it can raise or lower blood levels of many prescription drugs. Blood thinners and anticonvulsants are common examples.
• Fenugreek (Debloat) lowers blood glucose and can cross-react with peanut and chickpea allergies.
• Wormwood (Debloat) contains thujone and is not recommended for prolonged use.
• The Out of Office THC line is intoxicating. Do not drive on it, and note that THC stimulates appetite — see our Summit THC review for why that matters if you are managing weight.

Do not use these products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, have liver disease, or take medication metabolised by the liver without clearing it first. Common CBD side effects include drowsiness, diarrhoea, appetite change and fatigue.

Availability and the November 2026 Cap

Soul sells in the United States. On the federal hemp changes, Soul is better placed than most of its competitors — and for once that is a straightforward piece of good news.

The FY2026 agriculture appropriations law, signed in November 2025, caps finished hemp-derived consumer products at 0.4mg of total THC per container from 12 November 2026, counting total THC rather than delta-9 alone. Industry estimates suggest around 95% of hemp products are affected, including many full-spectrum CBD products. Isolate products containing zero THC are the least exposed category there is — so Soul’s core CBD range should be largely unaffected where full-spectrum competitors are not.

The exception is the Out of Office THC line. A gummy listed at 6mg THC is well above a 0.4mg per-container ceiling on its own. If you buy from that line, buy what you will use before November rather than stocking up, and check your state law, which varies independently of the federal position.

How Soul Compares

The comparison with R&R is the useful one, because they sit at opposite ends of the same trade-off. R&R gives you full-spectrum product, USDA Organic certification and marginally better cost per milligram at high strength — but its core range carries trace THC and more regulatory exposure. Soul gives you an ISO-accredited testing lab, zero THC, and the least exposure to the November rules — but no organic certification we could verify, and a range whose marketing oversells what isolate can do.

If you are drug tested, that choice is already made for you: Soul, on the isolate. If you are not, R&R’s certification and documentation are the stronger package.

Pros and Cons

Who Should Pick It, and Who Should Look Elsewhere

Soul suits you if you are drug tested, or simply want no THC in the house at all. Isolate is the right product for that requirement, the testing is done by an accredited laboratory, and at the discounted price the gummies are good value per milligram. It is also the range least disturbed by the November 2026 rules, which matters if you want to keep buying the same thing next year. Stick to the plain CBD gummies or drops.

Look elsewhere if you specifically want the accompanying cannabinoids and terpenes — an isolate is the wrong purchase however it is marketed, and a broad or full-spectrum brand is what you are after. Be cautious with the capsule range if you take an antidepressant, thyroid medication or any glucose-lowering drug; those are conversations to have with a pharmacist first. And if you want organic certification, R&R and Aspen Green have it and Soul does not, as far as we could verify.

Limitations of This Review

We have not bought, taken or tested any Soul product, so we cannot speak to taste, effect, shipping or customer service. Cost-per-milligram figures are our own arithmetic on published prices and milligram counts.

Specific gaps: we did not open individual certificates of analysis, so the ProVerde relationship and its ISO 17025 accreditation are reported from independent coverage rather than verified by us, as is the returns policy. The Thyroid Hero product page returned an error, so we have not assessed it — thyroid supplements warrant particular care and we would want to read that label before commenting. We could not confirm capsule counts per bottle, the 10mg gummy price, doses for any Debloat botanical, or whether any current product contains the kava kava and skullcap named in the affiliate copy. We found no Trustpilot presence and did not read the BBB complaints individually. And we cannot predict how the November 2026 hemp provisions will be applied to specific products.

The underlying product is sound. ISO 17025 accreditation at the testing lab is a stronger credential than most of this category can show, no FDA warning letter is a meaningful clean record, and the BBB file is light. At 2.7¢ a milligram the gummies are competitively priced against brands with better certification. And for anyone facing a drug test, isolate is simply the correct answer — Soul is genuinely the right recommendation for that buyer.

The problem is that the marketing sells a different product than the label describes. Calling an isolate broad spectrum and crediting it with the entourage effect gets the science backwards: isolate is defined by the removal of exactly the compounds that effect requires. A buyer choosing Soul because of that claim is choosing it for the one thing it cannot do, while overlooking the one thing it does better than its rivals.

Two smaller cautions carry real weight. A 30-day guarantee badge over a 14-day unopened-only policy means there is no trying before committing, so buy small first. And the capsule line deserves more care than a CBD gummy — 5-HTP alongside an antidepressant is a genuine serotonin-syndrome risk, and a thirteen-ingredient bloating blend with no published doses cannot be assessed by anyone, including us. Buy the gummies or the drops with confidence; take the capsules to a pharmacist first.
