Five CBD Review – A Recreational THC Brand, and It Says So

Five sells full-spectrum hemp gummies, tinctures and chocolates built on a 5:1 CBD-to-THC ratio, with doses running from 5mg to 15mg of delta-9 THC per gummy at $39.99 to $89.22. It is made to a genuinely high manufacturing standard and its dosing guidance is better than most. It is also, unambiguously, a recreational THC brand — and the third brand we have reviewed from the same parent company as Medterra and Vena, which together span everything from zero THC to a full recreational dose.

This Is a Recreational THC Brand

We should say this plainly at the top, because the word “CBD” in the brand name understates what is in the jar.

To Five’s credit, none of that is hidden. Unlike brands we have reviewed that put a psychoactive dose behind wellness language and a facial serum, this one tells you what it is in the product name, the URL and its own corporate description. A recreational product sold as a recreational product is a more honest transaction than the alternative, and we would rather review this than something pretending to be a supplement.

But it changes who the review is for. If you arrived looking for CBD — the non-intoxicating cannabinoid — this is not that, and the sister brand covered below is.

One Company, Three Brands, 0mg to 15mg

Having now reviewed all three brands under Medterra CBD LLC, we can show something a single review cannot.

This is normal portfolio segmentation and we are not presenting it as a scandal. Plenty of companies run brands at different points on a spectrum. But it produces a genuinely useful consumer observation: the same company will sell you zero THC or fifteen milligrams depending on which website you happen to find, and nothing about the shared ownership signals that.

Two practical implications. If you want no THC, go to Medterra — the certification and the THC-free lines are there. If you want a deliberate recreational dose, Five is the honest place to get it. And do not assume that credentials attaching to one brand — Medterra’s US Hemp Authority certification, for instance — extend to the others, because we found no evidence that they do.

Pricing and Cost per Milligram of THC

With CBD we price per milligram of CBD. Here the active ingredient people are actually buying is THC, so that is the column that matters. The final column is our arithmetic.

A note on the subscription: the discount is 25% on the main lines but only 15% or even 5% on some variety and sample packs. Check the percentage on the specific product rather than assuming it is uniform.

The Dosing Guidance Is Actually Good

We have criticised several brands in this category for selling intoxicating products with no dosing advice at all. Five does this properly, and it deserves saying.

The site tells buyers that effects last four to six hours, that the peak comes around the 90-minute mark, and — most importantly — “start with just one THC gummy and wait at least an hour to see how your body responds before considering more.”

That is exactly the right advice, and it addresses the single most common way people have a bad time with edibles: taking a second dose during the delayed onset. Publishing a specific peak time is more useful still, because “wait an hour” without context invites people to conclude nothing is happening at minute fifty-nine.

Our one addition: on the 15mg Fast-Acting line, we would suggest starting with half a gummy rather than one if you are inexperienced. Fifteen milligrams is a substantial dose, and a “fast-acting” formulation shortens the window in which you can reconsider.

Indica Chill, Sativa Surge — and the Genetics

Three of Five’s products are differentiated by the indica/sativa/hybrid framing, and it is the second brand in our reviews to use it, so the same evidence applies.

For an edible the connection is looser again — you are consuming a dosed extract with added flavouring, not the plant, and whatever terpene signature survived processing is a small influence beside the milligrams of THC and your own response to them.

Since all three of those products carry identical 10mg doses at identical prices, the practical advice is simple: pick the flavour you prefer and do not expect the label to steer your experience. That is not a criticism of Five specifically — the convention is universal and customers ask for it — but you should know what you are choosing on.

The Manufacturing Credential Is Real

Five states that its gummies are produced in an AA-rated BRC facility, that products follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices, and that they are third-party tested for potency and quality, with a certificates page published.

The BRC point is worth explaining because it is unusual here. BRCGS is a recognised global food safety standard used across the mainstream food industry, and AA is its highest grade. It audits the facility — hygiene, process control, traceability, allergen management — rather than testing the finished product. Very few hemp brands hold food-safety certification at that level, and for an edible you swallow, facility standards matter alongside cannabinoid testing.

Taken with the very large on-site review counts — several products carry thousands of ratings at 4.7 to 4.9 — the picture is of a product made consistently. We would note those ratings are on-site rather than independent, and that external review coverage includes complaints about pricing and what one customer called deceptive marketing, which is worth weighing against the on-site numbers.

November 2026: 500 Times Over

Of the twelve hemp brands we have reviewed, Five is among the most exposed, because high THC content is the entire proposition rather than an incidental feature. There is no low-THC line to retreat to here — that is what the sister brands are for.

Practically: buy what you will use before November, and think hard before starting a subscription on a product category that federal law reclassifies in roughly three months.

If You Are Here Because of Weight Loss

This is the clearest case in any review we have written. THC stimulates appetite — synthetic THC is an FDA-approved appetite stimulant — and Five sells the highest THC doses of any brand in this series. A 15mg gummy is not a trace; it is a deliberate dose of a compound whose best-known side effect is making people eat.

Follow the company’s own advice: one gummy, wait at least an hour, remember the peak is around ninety minutes. On the 15mg line, start with half.

How Five Compares

Among the intoxicating hemp brands, Five is the best-made and among the most straightforward. It does not bundle an opioid-receptor agonist into a gummy, it does not sell a liquid that removes the dosing brake, and it does not dress a 5mg dose as a face serum. If you have decided you want hemp THC edibles, this is a sensible place to buy them.
